Lawmakers air contrasting views as no-confidence debate continues

KATHMANDU: As the Parliament is continuing discussion over the no-confidence motion filed against the government, lawmakers representing various parties have put forth contrasting views in line with party agendas, on Sunday.

Speaking in the beginning of the meeting today, Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula said the change in the government was very natural in the parliamentary democracy and no one should create confusion over that.

Speaking after him, CPN-UML senior leader and former prime minister Jhala Nath Khanal, however, said the no-trust motion further divided major political parties in the nation, posing threat to implementation of the new Constitution.

He warned parties against taking victory in the no-confidence vote as the win over some particular political parties.

Khana stressed that cooperation among parties was inevitable to cope with all problems facing the nation.
